The Morristown Housing Authority was formed in 1952 in Morristown, TN.  It began with public housing units and later expanded to include Section 8 Existing Certificates, now known as the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.

Today, Morristown Housing Authority manages 672 public housing units and includes a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, Moderate Rehabilitation, and New Construction, which issue a combined total of 503 vouchers. Four of the public housing units are occupied by Habitat for Humanity, Stepping Out Ministries, the Neighborhood Network Learning Center, and the Morristown-Hamblen Childcare Center.

The Morristown Housing Authority’s goal is to provide drug-free, decent, safe and sanitary housing for eligible families and to provide opportunities and promote self-sufficiency and economic independence for residents.
